MiniMax H3 AI Video Generator: Text to Video and Image to Video with Sound

Turn a written scene or a single photo into a 5–10 second video with a generated soundtrack, right in the browser — no ComfyUI workflow, no API key, no GPU to rent. Pick H3 Turbo for speed and cost or H3 Max for the final cut; both share the same prompt box and credit balance. MiniMax H3 is the model line formerly branded Hailuo.

MiniMax H3 Turbo or H3 Max: which video model to choose

Both models take the same prompt, aspect ratios, durations and resolutions, and both return a clip with sound. The difference is fidelity per credit.

H3 Max Turbo: Fastest and Cheapest

Built on MiniMax's open-weights H3 and post-trained by fal for speed. A 5-second clip is ready in about 4 seconds and a 10-second clip in about 12, at the lowest credit cost of the two — the exact price for your settings shows under the Generate button. Start here, iterate on the prompt, then re-run the keeper on H3 Max if you need more detail.

H3 Max: Higher Fidelity Motion

Built on MiniMax's open-weights H3 and post-trained by fal for fidelity. Same speed and the same controls as Turbo, with cleaner motion, lighting and fine detail, at twice the credits — the exact price for your settings shows under the Generate button. Pick it for the shot you will actually publish.

Prompt Writing for Video

MiniMax H3 prompt guide: write video prompts that move the way you expect

Video prompts work like image prompts plus one thing: motion. These habits apply to both H3 models and separate a usable clip from a pretty still that barely moves.

1

1. One shot, one subject, one action

A 5–10 second clip is a single shot. Name the subject, what it does, and where: 'a barista pours latte art in a sunlit cafe' beats a list of things that happen. Save scene changes for a second generation.

2

2. Say how the camera moves

The model understands film language. 'Slow push-in', 'handheld follow', 'orbit around', 'static tripod shot' each produce a different clip from the same subject. If you say nothing, you usually get a gentle push-in.

3

3. Describe the motion, not just the look

For image-to-video especially, the prompt is about what changes: 'steam rises', 'hair moves in the wind', 'she turns toward the camera'. Style words still help, but the verbs decide whether the clip moves.

4

4. Match duration to the action

Five seconds fits a single gesture or camera move; ten seconds gives room for a slow reveal. Longer clips cost proportionally more credits and take proportionally longer, so start at 5 seconds and extend only when the action needs it.

What the MiniMax AI video generator gives you

Both H3 models give you short clips with a generated soundtrack, six frame shapes and three resolutions, and the generator shows the credit cost of every setting before you press Generate.

Text to video and image to video

Write a scene from scratch, or upload a photo and describe how it should move — photo to video keeps the aspect ratio and content of your frame and animates it.

Clips arrive in seconds

Measured on real generations: a 5-second clip in about 4 seconds, a 10-second clip in about 12, on both models and at every resolution. Keep the tab open; the result is delivered to this page.

Sound is included

Each clip comes with a generated soundtrack that matches the scene: ambient sound, movement, weather. It is synthetic audio, not a recording, and you can mute or replace it in any editor.

Six aspect ratios, up to 1080p

16:9, 21:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4 and 9:16 for text-to-video. Resolutions of 480P (short side 480 px), 768P (1344×768 at 16:9) and 1080P (1920×1080). Image-to-video follows the shape of your photo.

Per-second pricing, shown up front

Credits scale with duration and resolution and are displayed before you generate. A failed generation is refunded automatically. Prompts that violate the content policy are blocked before any credits are spent.

Yours to use

The videos you generate are yours for personal, social or commercial use, with no watermark on free or paid plans. Do not animate real people without their consent — see the Terms of Service.

Common Text-to-Video and Image-to-Video Use Cases

These are the short-form jobs where a 5–10 second clip is the whole deliverable; each one names the model and settings that fit it.

Social clips and Reels

A 9:16 clip at 768P on H3 Turbo is the workhorse for Reels and Shorts: one subject, one camera move, five seconds. Credits scale with length, so two 5-second takes cost the same as one 10-second clip — try two framings and keep the stronger.

Product shots that move

Upload a product photo and ask for a slow orbit or a light sweep. Image-to-video keeps the product exactly as shot and adds the motion. Use H3 Max at 1080P for a hero clip on a landing page.

Bringing a still image to life

Make a portrait blink and turn, let clouds drift across a landscape, or give a drawing a breath of motion. Describe the change, keep it subtle, and let the model preserve the frame.

Storyboards and previsualization

Test a shot idea before filming it: camera move, lighting, mood. Turbo at 480P is cheap enough to try several framings of the same scene in a few minutes.

Ambient loops and backgrounds

Ask for rain on a window, a fireplace or a city at night with continuous motion and no clear start or end, and the clip loops cleanly as a website or stream background.

Ad and landing-page hero video

A 16:9 or 21:9 clip at 1080P on H3 Max, muted and looped, replaces a static hero image. Generate the soundtrack-free version by muting the track in your editor.
